DESCRIPTION
Shinichi Honda is a student with no filter for his words or his actions. A first-year high school student, he is noble and kind but as blunt as a brick, tending to speak his mind with no hesitation. Attending the same school is Mako Wakamiya, a member of the public morals committee with an incredible sense of duty. From a distance, she appears to be cool and collected, but hidden in plain sight is the fact that she is a total klutz with a maiden's heart.
The first time Shinichi and Mako lock eyes, they are each wholeheartedly caught up in their own awkward situation. The brief moment when they pass by each other only leaves them dumbstruck at the other's strange appearance.
Months later, disaster strikes when Mako, on committee duty, must confiscate an adult manga from Shinichi. Hilarity ensues as Shinichi leads Mako on a thunderous chase all over the school. As the deafening pair happen to meet up more and more often, maybe there is hope that the two can get along?

80/100From Porn Mags to Wedding Bells: A Romance That Defies ExpectationsContinue on AniListAlright, let me tell you about this manga I just finished called "Do Chokkyuu Kareshi × Kanojo", or as I like to call it, "The Screaming Love Story That’s Somehow Wholesome". Imagine if two people with megaphones for hearts fell in love, and you’re halfway there. Written by Fujita Nagasa, this rom-com is like a rollercoaster of chaos, hormones, and surprisingly sweet moments. Let me break it down for you.
The Premise: No Filter, All Chaos
Meet Shinichi Honda and Mako Wakamiya—two high schoolers who communicate exclusively in CAPS LOCK. Shinichi’s a blunt, sports-loving guy who’s obsessed with big-breasted women (yeah, it’s a whole thing), and Mako’s a klutzy student council member who tries (and fails) to act prim and proper. Their first meeting? Shinichi gets caught with an adult magazine, Mako chases him across the school like a rom-com action hero, and sparks fly… or more accurately, explode!!!!
This isn’t your typical “will they, won’t they” snoozefest. By Chapter 5, they’re already dating, no 200 chapters of pining here! But don’t think it’s smooth sailing. Their relationship is like a shouting match mixed with accidental confessions and so many misunderstandings. Picture two Tsunderes, but instead of hiding their feelings, they yell them into the void. Why It Works: Loudness as a Love Language
The humor here is unapologetically ridiculous. Think over-the-top facial expressions, dramatic paneling that feels like a shounen battle manga, and jokes that’ll either make you wheeze or blush. One chapter involves a “pervert temple” (don’t ask), and another has them screaming about ice cream like it’s a life-or-death situation. It’s absurd, but weirdly charming like watching two golden retrievers try to flirt.
But here’s the twist: beneath the chaos, there’s actual character growth. After they start dating, the story tackles real issues - jealousy, communication breakdowns, and even a near-breakup. Mako’s overthinking clashes with Shinichi’s bluntness, and watching them learn to listen instead of just shouting is low-key touching. Plus, Mako’s little sister and Shinichi’s friends add hilarious side drama (even if their arcs get rushed later)The Art: Chaotic Good
The art style is… bold. Thick lines, exaggerated poses, and panels that look like they’re about to leap off the page. It’s not “pretty,” but it’s perfect for the tone. When Shinichi declares his love, the letters practically vibrate off the speech bubbles. And the fourth-wall-breaking wedding scene in the final chapter? Pure genius—it feels like the characters drag you into their world! The Jallal in the Room: It’s Horny
Let’s address it: this manga is NSFW-adjacent. Shinichi’s obsession with breasts is a running gag, and there are enough panty shots to make you side-eye the “shounen” tag. But here’s the thing, it’s so over-the-top that it loops back to funny. Imagine Prison School but with actual emotional depthThe Ending: Wholesome AF
No spoilers, but the finale is a 10/10 payoff. After 39 chapters of screaming, the couple ties the knot in a wedding scene so sweet, you’ll forget they ever argued about who forgot to buy milk. It’s heartfelt, goofy, and even breaks the fourth wall to include you in the celebration. Yeah, I teared up. Fight me.Final Words
Read It If…- You’re tired of slow-burn romances.
- You want laughs that border on absurdity.
- You don’t mind a little (okay, a lot of) raunchy humor.
Do Chokkyuu Kareshi × Kanojo isn’t perfect, but it’s a riot from start to finish. And honestly? We need more stories where love isn’t whispered, it’s SHOUTED.
