65/100I love this but the ending was NOT it.Continue on AniListPersonally, the Blood of Madam Giselle was one of my favorites. The keyword is was.
Everything I was looking for in a romance graphic novel was here. Adorable possessive male lead and a very assertive female lead. Giselle's backstory was interesting, and her overall personality was actually charming. She has been through a hard life yet she continues to persevere and choose a path that allows her to be both free and happy. I guess you can say that she is one of the most relatable and realistic characters in this story. I like when protagonists are given a harsh sense of reality which shapes their way of thinking in a more realistic sense rather than a typical optimistic view. Most of the time, she didn't allow herself to be treated badly. She knew her self-worth and asserted herself.
I believe the creator was able to create a wonderful set of characters that are all unique and loveable.
Can I just say that the art style is just beautiful? I really loved the art of this graphic novel.
In terms of storytelling, I believe it is also good. You can really feel butterflies when you see Giselle and Isaac together. Reading it really kept you at the edge of your seat. There were so many plot twists that I wasn't expecting... especially the ending.
From my summary alone, you can already tell that I do not like the ending. It felt rushed as if the creator wanted to abruptly end the story. I will be discussing the ending so here is a spoiler warning.
First of all, why did Giselle shoot Isaac when she was clearly in a rush to treat his wound? The ending was the most fucked up shit I have ever read. The story was going in a nice direction, hinting that Giselle was going to be immortal soon with Isaac. I believe the ending where Giselle would die from medical complications would have been more probably than this. Although Isaac being the serial killer is not too surprising since it was a possibility, I still didn't like how their relationship ended. The creator also ended in a cliffhanger which is even more annoying. They left us with too many unanswered questions which is not a good thing. Who was the child? Who was the man behind the bush? And why was Isaac the serial killer anyway? What was the reason and how come all the other vampiric creatures did not have that behavior? The ending gives a heavy feeling in your chest and I truly believed it could have ended differently.
I understand that endings are usually the weaknesses of most stories and creators, however, I do believe that this story could have had a better ending. Overall, I still enjoy this story because of both the cute and dark sides to it. I will simply permanently erase my memory of the ending.

80/100Read for the enjoyment of the journey and not the ending.Continue on AniListI was suspicious of this works quality at first, but it quickly proved to be a very well thought out world. The worldbuilding with vampires is incredible in my opinion and despite the fact I'm usually not privy to vampire-based romances I was INCREDIBLY drawn in! I loved the structure of the story and was instantly hooked on our main character's sass. Issac is also super cute and I adore their dynamic throughout the work. I loved the antagonist that shows up somewhere around the middle and thought the unique attitude they had was quite interesting, especially their schemes. Easily outdoes your average manhua minor antagonist and has some serious charm despite being obviously written to be rooted against. Very well built story all in all and a cute little romance and lots of worldbuilding to hook yourself on.... HOWEVER. You should either skip the last two chapters in their entirety and make up how the story ends yourself or simply keep reminding yourself that the story is what you should be focusing on rather than where it will end up. I hated the ending with a passion. 8/10 even with my absolute boiling hatred for the ending that actually compelled me to write my first review on here in a WHILE.
I will now get into both what exactly I hated about the ending and my theory I am rather sure is true of WHY the ending is so horrifically sudden and bad. This is spoilers.
The reveal at the end is so obviously rushed and no motive can be explained as to why Isaac is suddenly the killer. The killer in previous iterations is shown with a cleft chin and generally there is a lot of obvious inaccuracies regarding that lore thread that it is generally understood by all who read that the ending is total and complete ASS!!!!!! I haven't seen such a bad ending since that one manhwa that literally ended out of utterly nowhere that I can't remember the name of right now. Generally there are so many loose ends that are left untied even with the 'extra' chapter that it's almost laughable that there was even an attempt to make a conclusion between the main character and her friend. There isn't even good closure for the male lead which is the main gripe I have been seeing [also a gripe of mine.]... You never find out about the main antagonist OR what happened to the vampires really!!! Like them individually and how they have changed etc etc...
However, FEAR NOT! Many including me tried to figure out why this ended so suddenly and so nonsensically... many said the author was tired with the series and just wanted to finish it ASAP, but I have a much more supported theory than that... though it can still be that. I personally think the author was being forced to make choices they didn't want to with their characters by the publishers- let me explain... It's so rare to see a lesbian couple in a goodish light in manhuas that aren't GL. There was not only one but almost two. Bluebell and Anne [i think this was her name? the orange haired girl] had a very obvious romantic thing going on, only suddenly to be interrupted by Bluebell getting freaky with another vampire that remarked that they shouldn't fall for humans because heartbreak is inevitable or something. Anyways, all of a sudden they are dropped after Anne gets freaked out by her having blood all over her and the other vampire Bluebell is with being generally intimidating to her. This is NEVER brought up again after this point. Why? This was such a good character development point for Anne, Bluebell, and the other vampire's name I can't remember. I was really interested in the exploration of how despite humans often being 'fated' partners for vampires, some may have the view that they aren't worth the heartache they bring. It was interesting, but suddenly dropped.... and lead into a character with whom she has 0 chemistry with and who seems very not into romance ? ?????? ? ? ? ?? ?.... And then somewhat after she has very heavy allusions to Leo and her being a thing, and i'm fairly sure they marry in the end as she specifically refers to having a husband in the end. Now, why do I think this is the reason that this got ended early? Well, all of this reads like publishers trying to force gay representation out of a story. No, we don't want another gay couple, you already had one and you had a few major scenes with them that yes I know I told you, author, to tone back on those, but I really don't think you should do that... yes... I like the issue you introduced with Bluebell, but I don't want to see that character again after this, make a good explanation as to why they suddenly have their chemistry broken.... ok now introduce a new male love interest for her. Thanks for doing all that! Wait why are you ending it wait this doesn't make sense- it's my theory this was actually rushed and had a crappy ending out of SPITE for the publishers. It might have been compounded with super strict deadlines [as is the usual issue with manhua authors and artists... poor guys]. But generally, it makes sense why the ending was so nonsensical. It's very obvious the INTENDED murderer was going to be the Vampire with that one girl the main character's husband was having on the side had under her control. It made perfect sense, the guy always had an obscured face and was at her beck and call, which was probably meant to show how vampire's 'one mate only' lifestyle could end badly for them if they are bonded to the wrong person. She seemed to be an overarching antagonist despite her saying she wanted to live peacefully... which also made no sense to me... I think it was around that time the author started attempting to rush the ending. All of a sudden, the main antagonist for a few chapters disappears with all the ends nicely tied up and an introduction to a possible [most probably] vampire character.... be so fr!!! This obviously was meant to come back around and show that everything had been her doing all along. She didn't seem to be too bothered by the bites on the main character and though seemed 'clueless' at first about vampires, I think it was more so meant to throw off the readers. Anyways, this is my theory of why the ending was so trash and what likely WAS going to be the ending in my professional opinion.
