Seemingly a Romcom, and It Truly Exceeds in Both Romance and Comedy, but There is Way, Way More to It
Note: This is my first time writing a review so um I'm sorry. Will contain marked spoilers. __Summary:__ (I suck at summarizing stuff I'm so sorry) MC isekais into her favorite book when the OG!MC was still a boy. MC fangirls over OG!MC a lot and goes to OG!MC's mansion in the cold north where he lives with his adoptive dad, the ML. She gets engaged with the ML and things happen.
Yeah I really am that bad at summarizing
__1. Art__ The style is very, well, stylized, and might be just a tweeny bit weird with the heads' side view at first but it'll grow on you in no time. The artist excels at shading, which makes the art so so gorgeous and atmospheric. Imo, one of the most important aspects in art for manga and such is how the art conveys atmosphere and emotion, which for some reason never gets the attention it deserves. And this manhwa illustrates the feel and atmosphere of scenes so wonderfully, with amazing lighting and panel arrangements. It's one of the only manhwas I see that pay proper attention to visual storytelling and I appreciate that so much. For example (shamelessly stole this analysis but I just want to illustrate my point): In this scene, the image is tilted so that Hades (the guy in black) has higher ground over Azar (the other guy) and it makes him looks taller despite their actual height, expressing their dynamic ide note, because I know how hard drawing clothing textures and hair is, I just can't help but fawn over the way the artist makes it look so natural and fluid and literally so perfect. For example: The color palette is very pretty and pastel, on its own I think it's a great stylistic choice, but the way it makes the darker scenes with bolder colors pop makes it so much better too. Some of my favorite panels because why not: __2. Overall Plot__ Oh boy I have a lot to say about this. It starts like most typical childcare otome isekai's, which isn't bad because I gobble up that shit like there's no tomorrow ;-; but the gears really start spinning at around chapter 28. If you want to go in blind, stop reading this part, but let's just say the original book, the whole world, the MC isn't what you thought they would be. The plot runs really *really* deep and at some points, well, it turns into an existential fantasy gods psychological horror. But fear not! You have plenty of fluffy scenes and heart-fluttering romance to go with the existential crisis, so they (kind of) balance each other out. The childcare fluff and romance is amazing and greatly amplifies the effect that the fantasy aspects has, especially on the emotions when MC fiddles with all the existential horrors running around..... That side of the story connects deeply with the characters (especially the leads) and create *delicious* and painful angst. So good. __3. Characters__ *The Main Character (Aisha Healthcliff):* I. LOVE. HER. She's a fangirling girl who's kinda an airhead, she's so cute. Aside from all that, she's smart, I mean, not like those scheming, playing-4d-chess FL's but she's emotionally intelligent and the fact that she worked out all the fantasy mind-warping bullshits on her own says something. *The Male Lead (Hades Louvremont):* Love of my life. The caring considerate smug narcissistic bastard. Most otome isekai ML's don't really have a personality or a life aside from FL, being emotionally-constipated and swords but that's not the case with Hades. He has so much personality like I could just tell how he'd react to events that would happen??? He'd worry so much for his son and FL in even the smallest of situations, or joke around with that large ass ego of his with them.

I'm super grateful that this amazing series got licensed, and the animation on the first chapter was so superb, but there are some things that do bother me compared to the fan translation that came earlier. Like, why did they have to change stan to simp......simping for a child is *not* cool and not a part of otaku culture tapas I beg you. Additionally, they also didn't have to make it into Aisha stalking the author when she was isekai'd by truck-kun? In the fan translation she was going to a fan meeting if I recall correctly. It doesn't even make sense from a narrative standpoint, since later Aisha mentions wanting to ask the author about why the novel was titled "Persona" before she died. If it was a fan meeting, that's totally reasonable, but which sane person would answer when their stalker ask them about their book instead of calling the police.............<center>
