DESCRIPTION

A boys’ school film club is the backdrop for three tales of new romance. Mao and Hisashi pair up for a project, make three promises, and draw closer together in the process. The club president, Jin, and a jealous junior named Giichi clash before finding common ground. Shion, a first-year student, joins the film club in search of a boyfriend and butts heads with Rei—until Rei asks him on a date.

Twilight may be out of focus, but so is the story!
This anime differentiated between being pretty good and just pretty eh. This is due to the anime being focused on three different couples, some being better than others. So I'm going to break up this review into the three different couples.

Banana Head and Weird Camera Guy (Hisashi and Mao)

These two were just alright to me. I feel like they should have had more development together because their romance felt pretty rushed. What I think was done sort of well was Banana Head's past and moving on through that. Sort of. I wish they had shown a lot more of him moving on and getting through the trauma that he's experienced, because once he's with Mao it's like all their problems are fixed, and their desperately in love. I think their romance story would have been better if them falling in love took longer and they had to work through their past and and feelings along the way. So overall, they were okay. They had their cute scenes together, especially the beach scene at the end.

Red Head and Glasses (Kikuchihara and Gichi)

These two were my favorite. That's because I felt like they were developed the most out of the three couples. We got to see their past and how Red Head was inspired by Glasses to pursue his dreams. Later they meet and their sort of enemies but then they bond through manga which was pretty sweet. Glasses sort of acted hateful toward Red Head but that was because he respected his movies and wished that Red Head wouldn't let himself be disrespected so much, his work be trampled on. That was sweet, it showed more complexity for their feelings together. I wish they had gotten more time for development, but overall they were my favorite. I also just really like the whole happy energetic person x tsundere trope, it's cute Lol.

Headache and Hat Boy (Shion and Rei)

I started watching the episode with Headache, heard his dialogue, told myself it would get better and that I should keep watching so that I fully finished it, kept watching and slowly felt my life fading away. Headache's dialogue was so cringe I couldn't take it and skipped everything with that couple.

As for everything else, the story was okay. It's mostly just centered on them making movies which was kinda boring but it was okay, I don't have much to say about it. The animation surprised me, usually I don't expect much from Studio Deen, but they did a good job this time and everything looked pretty good. I also liked the music pretty well.

So would I recommend watching this? Eh. It's a decent BL but it's not the best I've seen or anything. Maybe if you're looking for BLs to watch, but outside of that, I wouldn't really recommend this.
