DESCRIPTION
Ran has a nightmare about her mother dying, but starts to remember what really happened involving herself, her mother, and her father from 10 years ago. Meanwhile, people are being injured by a certain culprit. Conan soon realizes that these people all have some kind of relation to Mouri, and that they all had a number in their name corresponding to a playing card and were being targeted in order, from the king down to the ace. The police soon decide that a murderous card dealer who just got out of jail and wanted revenge on Mouri is behind it. However, as injuries become murders and it is a race to predict who the next victims will be, Conan soon finds that the truth is something completely different, while learning about the incident from 10 years ago in the process.

REVIEWS
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH
50/100Detective Conan The Fourteenth TargetContinue on AniList(Score probably isn't my actual opinion just is there as a place holder because I change my opinion a lot)
Is it weird that I didn't enjoy this one? I thought the 1st movie was pretty good and memorable but honestly this one was pretty forgettable and boring. I know a lot of people like this one so is there something I'm missing?
Negatives
I know this is a Detective Conan film and not a Mori Kagoro film (Even though I wish it was) but why did they focus so much on him just for Conan to do all the heavy lifting. And by heavy lifting he just comes up with deductions out his ass.
like when "Nana Osanai" was killed in the pitch black and all Conan had to go off of was a press on nail. The thing that made it so unbelievable and dumb was him coming to the conclusion, that in her dying moment she must have planted a marked cork on the murder and that's why her nail came off. (I don't think i need to explain why that is completely ridiculous and obviously just done to progress the plot.)The villain in the show "Kohei Sawaki" was stupid, he invited 2 professional detectives "Shinichi (Conan)" and Mori kogoro in order to frame another criminal. Why he hired the most well known detectives who have solved tons of cases I have no idea... I'm not going to act in the series they don't also have the murderer hiring the most well known detectives but omg when it happens it just makes 0 sense!
none of his conclusions felt very satisfying. Characters aren't really developed enough for you to care when they are eventually killed off.
Positives:
The Detective Boys were also in this film but only for a short time, which is probably a good thing Because other than the ones with Ai they are probably my least favourite episodes.
The killer targeting people with names on the poker cards was a fun idea. Sadly didn't really translate well for non Japanese speakers like myself but still a good idea.
The ending was actually pretty good and almost made up for all my annoyances I had coming up to it. Kogorou was actually super likeable in this and wasn't just a useful idiot to Conan! Obviously I wished he was a centre point of the film but at least he's not just acting like a jackass.
Music:
loved that Eurobeat version of the main theme and the ending song was alright. Conclusion:
Honestly this movie really wasn't as bad as I'm making it out to be it's sort of just like a kind of forgettable long detective Conan episode just with better structure and animation. And I think most fans of the series would probably enjoy it but for me it just sort of had all the worst elements of what you would normally see in the detective Conan series. But then again Conan shot Ran so it might just be the best detective conan movie ever
