Live-Action Mieruko-chan Film's Clips Show Eerie Life at School & Home

The official website for the live-action film of Tomoki Izumi's Mieruko-chan horror comedy manga began streaming a clip from the film on Monday. The clip shows protagonist Miko and her friend Hana seeing off their homeroom teacher Arai, who is carried to an ambulance as she goes into labor. Arai asks Miko and Hana to handle the class for her. The next day, the two friends take charge of leading the class on what they should do for the school culture festival, and meet their new temporary homeroom teacher Tohno. The site also streamed three videos last week as a collaboration with the paranormal documentary series Honto ni Atta! Noroi no Video. The "Going to School," "Gym," and "Mealtime" videos feature the film's director Yoshihiro Nakamura narrating clips from the film in the manner of the documentary series' narration. Nanoka Hara (Suzume, live-action Oshi no Ko) stars as Miko Yotsuya. Other cast members include:Yoshihiro Nakamura (Fish Story, A Boy and His Samurai, Prophecy, Mumon: The Land of Stealth) is writing and directing the film.Yen Press publishes the manga in English, and it describes the story:Izumi launched the manga on Kadokawa's ComicWalker website in November 2018, and the series has since garnered over 85 million views. Kadokawa shipped the 12th compiled book volume on March 22, and the series has over three million copies in circulation in Japan. Yen Press shipped the manga's 10th volume on February 18.
