Inoue's Kimi no Katana ga Oreru Made Romantic Comedy Manga Ends

The romantic comedy manga is set during the Bakumatsu period, the closing years of the Tokugawa shogunate. The story centers on Matsuri Tsukimiya, a beautiful girl who catches everyone's eye. Everyone except her crush, Yonosuke Tsukimiya, her childhood friend, and who she grew up with as family. Yonosuke burns with one purpose: to avenge the death of his former lover by killing the general responsible for her death. Matsuri is desperte to turn Yonosuke away from wasting his life on vengeance, and to that end, she decides to try and fill Yonosuke's head with only thoughts of her, until she can become Yonosuke's reason for living.Inoue launched the manga in Shogakukan's Shonen Sunday magazine in May 2023. Shogakukan published the manga's fifth compiled book volume on April 11.Inoue launched The Duke of Death and His Maid manga in October 2017 in Sunday Webry, and ended the series in May 2022. Shogakukan published the manga's 16th and final compiled book volume in July 2022. Seven Seas is publishing the manga in English.The manga's television anime adaptation premiered in July 2021, and aired for 12 episodes. Funimation streamed the anime as it aired in Japan. The second season debuted in July 2023, and ended in September 2023. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired and also streamed an English dub. The third season premiered in April 2024.
