Live-Action Study Group Series Based on Webtoon Gets 2nd Season

The webtoon-based live-action series Study Group has officially confirmed a second season. The announcement was made on May 8 through the Q1 2025 earnings report for Studio Dragon, the production company of the series. The company revealed that the second season is in early planning stages. Studio Dragon also hinted at the possibility of exploring new formats, including an “interquel”—a follow-up story set between the events of the first and upcoming seasons.According to Star News on May 12, while the second season is confirmed for development, details regarding the cast, streaming platform, and specific format have not yet been finalized. Adapted from the webtoon of the same name, Study Group follows Ga-min Yoon, a martial arts expert who hides his abilities to focus on getting good grades. Min-hyun Hwang stars as Ga-min Yoon. The show's first season was a hit for the streaming platform Rakuten Viki. According to the platform, Study Group has been in the top 5 viewership in more than 140 countries. The webtoon Study Group is available in English on WEBTOON ENTERTAINMENT.
