Anime Herald Launches Print Magazine

Disclosure: Several Anime News Network staff members are involved in the inaugural issue of the Anime Herald Magazine. Those staff members were not involved in the production of this article.The first issue of the magazine will be a special anniversary publication that compiles eight archival pieces from Anime Herald and nine new articles from others working in anime media. The issue will feature articles by Lynzee Loveridge (Anime News Network), Daryl Surat (Otaku USA Magazine, Anime World Order Podcast), Chiaki Mitama (Anime Feminist), Erica Friedman (Okazu), Red Bard (Red Bard), Borealis Capps (Anime Herald, Yatta-Tachi, Anime Feminist), and Lucas DeReuyter (Anime News Network) as well as Anime Herald editor-in-chief and founder Samantha Ferreira.Anime Herald told ANN that it would like to release new issues quarterly or bimonthly if it gets a strong response to the inaugural issue, but it plans to publish the magazine at least annually. The publication will examine sales of the first issue before deciding how to proceed.Ferreira founded the independent reader-supported website in 2010.Source: Press release
