Live-Action Series Based on Forest of Humans Webtoon Confirmed

Korean business news outlet Money Today reported on May 8 that a live-action series based on the webtoon Forest of Humans is in production, and actress Ye-ji Seo is reportedly considering taking the lead role. Her agency, Sublime, confirmed on May 8 that she has received a casting offer.Forest of Humans is based on the popular webtoon of the same name. The dark thriller centers around a correctional facility that gathers psychopathic serial killers for experimental purposes. When the facility becomes paralyzed, chaos ensues, leading to extreme violence and death. The series is expected to carry a restricted rating and is currently in discussions for release on a major streaming platform.The live-action project would mark Ye-ji Seo's return to a leading role following a hiatus since the 2022 tvN series Eve. She has not been active since past controversies involving gaslighting and abuse of power allegations. Jun-ho Hwang, who was the creator of the original webtoon that inspired the Netflix series Karma, drew the Forest of Humans webtoon. The webtoon was serialized on Naver WEBTOON between 2012 and 2013.
