Anime NYC to Host Yoko Takahashi & hololive Concerts, Tokusatsu Stars

The staff of Anime NYC announced it will host Yoko Takahashi in a special concert celebrating the 30th anniversary of Neon Genesis Evangelion, as well as the hololive VTubers as a concert stop on the hololive STAGE World Tour'25 -Synchronize!-, at this year's convention. The convention will also host Japanese actors Tetsuya Iwanaga and Shiro Izumi.The Evangelion concert is slated for August 22 and will be a ticketed event.Takahashi performed the opening song “A Cruel Angel's Thesis” for the television anime, as well as the theme song "Soul's Refrain" for the Neon Genesis Evangelion: Death & Rebirth" film. Takahashi is performing in select shows for the "Evangelion Wind Symphony" concert for the Neon Genesis Evangelion anime and Rebuild of Evangelion films to North America in August.The agency hololive's talents Momosuzu Nene, Mori Calliope, Kureiji Ollie, IRyS, and Nerissa Ravencroft will perform in a live concert on August 22.Calliope performed the ending theme song "Go-Getters" for the Suicide Squad ISEKAI anime. Japanese actor Iwanaga is known for his role as Kuroto Dan in Kamen Rider Ex-Aid and will make his U.S. event debut at this year's convention.Japanese actor Izumi is a prolific special effects show actor. He is known for his roles as Yuma Ozora, Change Pegasus, in Dengeki Sentai Changeman and as Burai, the Dragon Ranger, in Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger.This year's Anime NYC has expanded to a four-day event (Thursday to Sunday) for the first time, on August 21-24 at the Javits Center. The event will also host Rooster Fighter (Niwatori Fighter) manga creator Shu Sakuratani, and the upcoming anime adaptation's screenwriter Hiroshi Seko.Anime NYC launched in November 2017, and has taken place in November each year until in 2024, when it moved to August, and used the full main building of the Javits Center for the first time.
