Netflix Unveils Trailer for Live-Action Webtoon-Based Mercy for None Series

On May 21, Netflix Korea revealed the poster and the trailer for Mercy for None, the live-action adaptation of the webtoon of the same name. The newly released trailer offers a glimpse into Ki-jun's (Ji-sub So) relentless journey of vengeance following the mysterious death of his younger brother, Ki-seok (Joon-hyuk Lee).The trailer opens at Ki-seok's funeral, where Ki-jun returns after years in hiding. Clues point to a powerful underworld network behind his brother's demise. Armed with his signature weapon — a baseball bat — Ki-jun unleashes unflinching, bare-handed violence, signaling a return to the bloody world he once left behind.Key figures include Lee Joo-woon (Joon-ho Heo), the calculating patriarch who delivers the line, “If someone started it, they must pay the price,” and Geum-son Lee (Young-woo Choo), an ambitious prosecutor and Joo-woon's son. The series follows Ki-joon, a former underworld figure who severed his Achilles tendon and left the criminal world. 11 years later, he returns to his former organization seeking revenge after the death of his younger brother Ki-seok, who had risen to the position of second-in-command.Originally serialized in 2020, Plaza Wars: Mercy for None gained widespread popularity before being adapted into a Netflix series.
